Paul Cheung: Task force on Greater Bay Area rule alignment and mechanism connectivity to be formed within this year at the earliest

Paul Cheung said in a newspaper interview that preliminary work had begun to prepare for the establishment of the "Task Force on Accelerating Rule Alignment and Mechanism Connectivity among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao", to be formed within this year at the earliest. The task force's work involves all policy bureaux, will consult stakeholders from all sectors, and will compile a list of policies that the policy bureaux consider urgently need alignment. It is hoped that a trial will first be conducted with Shenzhen, with a basic outline in place within the first two months of next year to launch related work with the Mainland, and that at least one or two demonstrative projects will be implemented within the current term of the HKSAR Government.
