It's Hard to Be a Good Person at Work

In his column "It's Hard to Be a Good Person at Work" in Still Happy, Lawrence Cheng shared that he was once a rather unsuccessful manager, and after leaving his job he consulted a senior mentor about the reasons for his failure. The senior's remark, "Because you always want to be a goody-goody! But in the workplace, it's hard to be a good person", pinpointed the crux of the problem.
