Christopher Hui visits Swiss gold refineries, says studying different policies to attract more precious metals firms to Hong Kong

Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui visited three refineries in Ticino, Switzerland — MKS PAMP, Heraeus and Valcambi SA — to learn about the latest developments in precious metals supply chain traceability and precision minting. Valcambi SA revealed that it is in discussions with Shougang Concord Century Holdings on cooperation to build gold refining and storage facilities in Hong Kong. Hui said the government will study different policy measures to attract more international precious metals firms to conduct business in Hong Kong and set up regional headquarters for Asia-Pacific.
