New Zealand swimmer dies after drowning, relatives identify body

A 58-year-old New Zealand man suspected of drowning and falling unconscious off Tung Wan while taking part in the Peng Chau island swim race on the afternoon of 1 October, died after being taken to hospital for treatment. Several of his relatives, accompanied by police officers, went to the Victoria Public Mortuary in Sai Ying Pun on 2 October to complete identification procedures, and left looking grief-stricken after identifying the body.
