Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited reminds the public to beware of the fake website hkmonetaryauthority.lol, which masquerades as the 'Buyer Online Security Guarantee' to offer Faster Payment System (FPS) online transaction security services, tricking users into providing identity card numbers, photos of identity documents and telephone numbers. The company clarified that it has absolutely no relationship with the website, and its official website addresses are www.hkicl.com.hk and fps.hkicl.com.hk. Enquiries can be verified by calling 2533 1111.
The bulletin lists the URL patterns of the fake websites and two official website addresses, allowing readers to check item by item whether they have mistakenly entered a scam page.
