John Lee asks Development Bureau to monitor One Stanley probe and review building works regulation

Chief Executive John Lee said he has asked the Development Bureau to monitor the investigation into floor slab reinforcement at detached houses at One Stanley in Repulse Bay not conforming with the drawings, and to strengthen legal regulation requirements and penalties for building works overall; the Buildings Department is conducting a serious investigation. The independent commission of inquiry into the Tai Po Wing Fuk Court fire is expected to submit its report by month-end. He said that after the commission submits its report, reforms will be rolled out as soon as possible and accountability pursued.
