Chau Hin: Problems should be faced, not pretended away

Chau Hin's column says problems should be faced rather than pretended away, citing the flight of Lin Biao and others on 13 September 1971. Zhou Enlai asked Mao Zedong whether fighter jets should be scrambled to intercept, and Mao replied with "It's going to rain, and mother is going to marry; let him go", meaning that some things do not change according to subjective wishes and cannot be prevented.
