Magnitude 7 Earthquake in Baqing County, Tibet; Immigration Department Has Not Received Requests for Assistance from Hong Kong Residents

A magnitude 7 earthquake struck Baqing County in Nagqu City, Tibet, causing casualties and collapsed or damaged houses. The Immigration Department said it has so far not received any requests for assistance from Hong Kong residents. The department has learned about the situation through the Chengdu Economic and Trade Office and the Travel Industry Authority, and reminded Hong Kong residents abroad that they can call the 24-hour assistance hotline 1868 or use channels such as the Immigration Department mobile application to seek help.
