Wong Ngon-yin denies two counts of obstructing national security investigation and seditious publication, to stand trial at District Court

Current affairs commentator Wong Ngon-yin yesterday pleaded not guilty at the District Court to two counts of obstructing a national security investigation and publishing seditious material, and will stand trial. The case involves 30 videos he posted on YouTube that are alleged to have seditious intent. Prosecution said that after the Tai Po Grandville fire, police intelligence indicated someone was preparing to hold a press conference to stir up discord, and the National Security Department requested a meeting with him; a police officer who testified in court said he had reminded him that the meeting must be kept confidential.
