Tang Man-Leung mentioned in his column that a cha chaan teng customer was reading a history book at the weekend and found that many emperors would dismiss useful ministers before they died, and the new emperor would then put these ministers back in important positions after ascending the throne; the customer did not understand what kind of political manoeuvre this was.
