【Emily】Lingnan University: Lantau Island short-legged horned toad has distinct genes, different mating calls

Lingnan University research found that although the endangered amphibian short-legged horned toad population on Lantau Island shows no obvious physical differences from populations in other areas, it is genetically differentiated from the same species in Hong Kong, Kowloon and even Shenzhen. Male calls of the Lantau Island population have a noticeably faster rhythm, and each call is also shorter.
