Wong Poon Yan family applies to convert Kwun Tong Luen Kiu Plaza into student hostel providing 434 places

The Wong Poon Yan family has applied to the Town Planning Board to convert over 90 per cent of the floor area of Luen Kiu Plaza into a student hostel, involving about 90,000 square feet of floor area and providing 240 rooms and 434 places. The applicant said that if approved, the student hostel is expected to begin operations in June 2028. The application is a case of an owner converting a property held into a student hostel after the launch of the government's "Study in the City" scheme.
