Multiple departments hold wildfire and hill rescue drill at Lion Rock; Fire Services Department deploys large drone to drop water bombs for the first time

Multiple government departments held a cross-departmental wildfire and hill rescue drill near Lion Rock Country Park on 9 October, mobilising about 150 people and simulating 25 hikers encountering a wildfire. The Fire Services Department deployed about 90 fire and ambulance personnel, and for the first time deployed a large drone to drop water bombs, while also applying artificial intelligence to analyse the wildfire, in preparation for the Chung Yeung Festival operation.
