Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Chongqing Announce Launch of Chongqing-Hong Kong Cross-Border Data Verification Platform

Chongqing and Hong Kong today (14 October) announced that the Chongqing-Hong Kong cross-border data verification platform has come into operation, coordinated and built by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Chongqing Branch of the People's Bank of China, among others. The platform uses blockchain and data code verification for data carried by customers themselves, without involving cross-border transmission and storage of original documents. The first phase focuses on cross-border financial scenarios such as opening accounts and applying for loans.
The Chongqing-Hong Kong platform was jointly coordinated and built by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and multiple parties in Chongqing, using blockchain and data code verification without cross-border transmission of original documents, and cites that the Shenzhen-Hong Kong platform has been used more than 40,000 times, providing a scale for comparison.
