Alice Mak Says Government Is Fully Planning and Advancing 30th Anniversary Celebrations of Hong Kong's Return, With Announcements to Be Made in Due Course

Alice Mak said in a written reply to a Legislative Council question that the government has established a steering committee chaired by the Chief Secretary for Administration to fully plan and advance celebrations for the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong's return, with announcements to be made in due course. A dedicated task force chaired by the Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration has also been set up under the steering committee, and the government has established a project planning office to provide support. Various policy bureaux and departments are preparing a series of activities incorporating elements of national education to strengthen citizens' sense of national identity and belonging.
