Hong Kong Spirit Award: Professor Lam Hon-ming's soybean research drives agricultural frontier

Professor Lam Hon-ming was selected for the Hong Kong Spirit Award for his soybean research. After completing postdoctoral research in the United States in 1997, he returned to Hong Kong and has specialised in soybeans for nearly 30 years, noting that soybeans can fix nitrogen in the soil and reduce reliance on chemical fertilisers, while some varieties can be bred to be drought- and salt-tolerant.
