Hong Kong Cycling Festival Ting Kau Bridge stage cancelled; Cycling Association says emergency lane opened for injured riders

The Hong Kong Cycling Festival moved to the West Kowloon Cultural District today (the 11th), with riders in the 32km category saying they were not notified of the cancellation of the Ting Kau Bridge stage. The Tourism Board said the change caused brief bottlenecks on some sections and is seeking to understand the situation from the Cycling Association, which led the way. The Cycling Association said an emergency lane was opened for injured riders and that moving traffic cones caused the lead vehicle to misjudge. Some riders also encountered congestion before the finish and had to push their bikes for about 5 kilometres.
