Government studies relaunching Home Ownership Scheme for sale, hiring consultants to consult all sectors

Secretary for Housing Winnie Ho said the government has begun research on the Home Ownership Scheme and commissioned a consultancy to design questionnaires for a survey and study on relaunching or expanding the Tenants' Purchase Scheme, including setting up workshops for discussion. Asked whether the government would relaunch the Sandwich Class Housing Scheme or introduce projects such as rent-then-buy, Ho said enriching the home ownership ladder requires a balance, otherwise too many categories could cause overlap.
