CUHK to Bid for Hung Shui Kiu Sites in Northern Metropolis University Town
Start here
On 27 October 2026, Chinese University president Rocky Tuan said CUHK will take part in bidding for the first batch of 3 sites in Hung Shui Kiu in the Northern Metropolis University Town. He believes the university town can allow the eight publicly funded universities to expand their "footprint". Rocky Tuan also noted that the government's tendering of the 3 parks in phases increases the difficulty of planning university sites, and that financial support is also insufficient, with the number of overseas institutions expected to be attracted to set up there likely not to be large.
