Asia-Pacific Stocks Narrow Losses as Hang Seng Falls More Than 0.5%; Some Blue-Chip Tech Shares Rise

A sharp overnight fall on Wall Street weighed on Asia-Pacific stocks in early trading, with Hong Kong shares later stabilising at low levels. The Hang Seng Index was at 24,665 earlier, down 131 points or 0.53%, while the Tech Index was at 4,126, down 0.66%. AI-related concept stocks came under pressure, with MINIMAX and Zhipu falling more than 7% to 8%, Lenovo down nearly 5%, and Meituan turning higher by nearly 3%. The three main mainland indices fell about 0.9% to more than 2.6%, while Japanese, South Korean and Taiwanese stocks narrowed losses to more than 4% to 5%.
