Shi Junhui: Uniform Campus Opening Mechanism May Affect Management Flexibility, Hopes Institutions Will Improve Transparency of Entry Arrangements

Deputy Secretary for Education Shi Junhui said that university campuses vary greatly in location, size and layout, and that a uniform campus opening guideline may affect institutions' management flexibility. He hopes institutions will, while ensuring safety, facilitate public and group use of publicly funded facilities and improve the transparency of entry arrangements, such as listing entry arrangements, opening hours and borrowable facilities on university websites. Currently only 3 UGC-funded universities fully open their campuses.
