How the "SUPPORT+" app helps advanced cancer patients reduce hospital stays

A University of Hong Kong study shows that adding a symptom-tracking mobile app to routine care can cut hospital stays for advanced cancer patients by nearly half and reduce unplanned admissions by more than a third. Developed by the Department of Clinical Oncology at the University of Hong Kong, SUPPORT+ was launched in 2022 with private sponsorship, providing symptom management information and a direct communication channel with healthcare professionals, and has attracted 76,000 registered users.
