Lawmakers Propose Reinstating Sai Yeung Choi Street South Pedestrian Zone; Rosanna Law Says Must Be "Extremely Cautious"

Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law said today in a reply to an oral question at the Legislative Council that the bureau is "extremely cautious" about the proposal to reinstate the pedestrian zone on Sai Yeung Choi Street South in Mong Kok. She said that in the past some people caused nuisances such as noise, environmental hygiene, street management and public order while performing on the street, which drew a large number of complaints. The pedestrian zone was terminated in 2018.
