Administration Wing Refuses Reporter's Request for Wang Fuk Court Questionnaires, Ombudsman Takes No Further Action

The government issued a questionnaire on long-term housing arrangements to Wang Fuk Court owners earlier this year and received replies from 1,900 households. Ming Pao cited the Code on Access to Information to request copies of the questionnaire replies without personal data. The Administration Wing refused, saying the content directly or indirectly involves personal privacy and that fully deleting personal data is not feasible. The reporter complained to the Office of the Ombudsman, which found no evidence of departmental maladministration and did not take the case further.
