HKMA Adds Tokenised Central Bank Money to Ensemble TX to Support 24/7 Interbank Tokenised Deposit Settlement

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced that Ensemble TX, the pilot phase of the Ensemble project, has entered a new chapter, supporting 24/7 round-the-clock settlement of interbank tokenised deposits through tokenised central bank money. Participating banks have increased to 12 and industry pioneers to 20, enabling instant tokenised transaction settlement outside traditional operating hours. HKMA Chief Executive Eddie Yue said the Ensemble project has in two years moved from the experimental stage to a new stage of driving commercial tokenisation applications in Hong Kong.
