Sun Dong Sets Out Use of $10 Billion Initial Funding for San Tin Technopole, About 60 Per Cent for Designing and Building Industrial Facilities for Lease

The government has set aside $10 billion as initial funding for San Tin Technopole Limited. Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong set out the arrangements at the Legislative Council, proposing about $3 billion to speed up land formation, about $6 billion for designing and building industrial facilities for lease, and about $1 billion for early operating expenses. The authorities plan to seek funding approval from the Legislative Council Finance Committee in the fourth quarter of this year.
