Cross-Border Bus Sector Proposes Public Transport Lane at Huanggang Port, Traffic Police on-Site Direction

Hong Kong Non-Franchised Bus Association chairman Choi Shun-kei believes a public transport lane would effectively solve last Saturday's congestion at the new Huanggang Port, but waiting-area arrangements must be handled well to prevent cross-border private cars from blocking it. He suggested the government arrange traffic police to direct on site and provide signs further ahead to stop private cars or taxis entering the lane. The government held an interdepartmental meeting yesterday to coordinate and oversee the response to pedestrian and vehicle flows at the new Huanggang Port during Halloween.
