Pakistani Man Cleared of Assaulting Police Officer After Altercation at Kwai Chung Plaza

Magistrate Ada Chu Suet-yu ruled that the Pakistani man had not committed the offence of assaulting a police officer, noting that the footage in question did not capture the moment the officer claimed he was touched by the defendant, and that the officer's testimony contained inconsistencies. He had earlier pleaded guilty to acting in a disorderly manner in a public place and was fined $3,000, while the defence's application for costs on the acquitted charge was refused.
