Taxi trade says taking queue tickets to pick up passengers at Huanggang Port may affect drivers' willingness, urges review

Ng Kam-wah, vice-chairman of the Taxi Development Association, said on Radio Television Hong Kong's Millennium programme that taxi drivers need to take queue tickets before picking up passengers at Huanggang Port, and tests showed a round trip takes about 8 minutes, which may affect drivers' willingness to pick up passengers. The trade has relayed the problem to the Transport Department and hopes a compromise can be adopted, with a review to be conducted later. It also hopes the department can provide figures on passengers waiting for taxis.
