Parents of People With Intellectual Disabilities Fearful After Hong Chi Association Sexual Assault Case, Wong Wai-hung Says Residential Care Home Support Is Indispensable

After the Hong Chi Association sexual assault case came to light, Wong Wai-hung, chairman of the Hong Kong Parents Association for Persons with Mental Handicap, said many parents were fearful and worried whether it was safe for their children to live in residential care homes for people with disabilities. He also noted that residential care homes were indispensable support for parents. He stressed that the work of all residential care homes and frontline staff should not be negated because of 1 case, and that many homes did their best to serve.
