Water Advisory Committee Visits Guangdong to Inspect Dongjiang Water Supply System and View Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project

The Water Advisory Committee delegation today began a two-day Guangdong itinerary to inspect the Dongjiang water supply system. This morning the delegation visited the Gaoxinsha Reservoir in Nansha, Guangzhou, to view the Pearl River Delta Water Resources Allocation Project, which came into operation in 2024 and draws water from the West River and can provide an emergency backup water source for Hong Kong. In the afternoon the delegation visited the greenway in Huizhou to inspect the quality of Dongjiang water supplied to Hong Kong, and toured the Dongjiang Basin Water Quantity and Quality Monitoring Centre.
