Hong Kong Shelves Peak Lighting Installation Plan, Citing No Urgent Need to Proceed

After assessing the effectiveness of a simplified lighting installation, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and the Tourism Board concluded there was no urgent need to proceed and decided to shelve the plan to install decorative lighting along the Peak scenic trail, pledging to restore the natural landscape as soon as possible. The plan, originally intended to enhance Hong Kong's night-time tourism appeal, was withdrawn following public opposition.
