Department of Health approves HK Fertility Centre to resume accepting new patients from tomorrow

The Department of Health said the Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulator has confirmed that HK Fertility Centre has implemented remedial and improvement measures, approving the centre to fully resume all 17 treatment services covered by its licence from tomorrow, and lifting the order suspending the acceptance of new patients. The centre was previously ordered to suspend accepting new patients over a risk of mismatched embryo and medical tissue samples. The regulator said sample handling procedures have been refined, staff training strengthened, and laboratory management and security systems enhanced, while the main personnel involved have left their posts.
