Hong Kong International Airport Receives IATA Digital Identity Certification, Among First Globally

Hong Kong International Airport has become one of the first 2 organisations certified under the International Air Transport Association (IATA) digital identity programme, and plans to extend its facial recognition system beyond Hong Kong. A senior aviation industry official said that, affected by government regulations and privacy requirements, the widespread application of facial recognition technology has been slower than expected.
