AFCD captures unattended mongrel in Yuen Long and Sha Tau Kok areas

The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) launched a new phase of special operations yesterday (the 8th), prioritising high-risk locations over the next 4 months where dogs have attacked passers-by and stray dogs have gathered. In the afternoon, the department and police captured an unattended mongrel in the Nam Sang Wai Road area of Yuen Long and the Luk Keng area of Sha Tau Kok, and sent it to the Animal Management Centre for detention and observation. The dog had not been microchipped, and the department will check lost dog records, and will prosecute the owner if there is evidence.
