Sino: Steady Development of Hong Kong Retail Sector Benefits from Mega-Event Economy

Sino Group Chief Commercial Officer Bella Choy said Hong Kong's retail sector is currently developing steadily, benefiting from the mega-event economy and "sports economy" organised by the government, which have driven sales of related goods, with footfall at its malls rising, and she expects the momentum to continue next year. Group Chief Financial Officer and Joint Director Doreen Chau noted that Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day drove a year-on-year increase of about 30 per cent in mainland visitors to Hong Kong, and occupancy rates at all of the group's hotels exceeded 80 per cent during the National Day Golden Week.
