Choi Fung-wah rarely removes dark glasses to reveal terrifying ordeal: beaten by over 30 people, 'iron lotus' pierced eye causing permanent vision loss

Choi Fung-wah appeared on Liza Wang's YouTube programme Dangerous Person 2.0, removing his sunglasses in front of the camera for the first time and revealing that after clearing customs in Shenzhen in 2004, he was beaten by over 30 people, with his right eye injured by a weapon called an 'iron lotus'. Surgery saved the eyeball but his vision was permanently damaged. He explained that he offended triads that year because he wanted to apply to hold a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum, and was afterwards labelled one of the 'Four Great Mad Kings', with no avenue to seek redress; he also clarified that he had not been blacklisted by TVB that year. Liza Wang was heartbroken and shed tears after hearing about his ordeal.
