Chow Ho-Ting Concerned About How Government Strengthens Supervision of Lift Works

DAB Legislative Council member Chow Ho-Ting raised a written question in the Legislative Council, concerned about how the government strengthens supervision of lift works. Citing the case of multiple lifts at Siu Hong Court not installed with fire-resistant door frame components according to specifications, he questioned whether spot checks and supervision of contractors were adequate, and said the integrity mechanism needed a comprehensive review. He was also concerned whether the incident involving deviations in lift shaft dimensions at the new clinical building of Queen Mary Hospital involved safety hazards or systemic problems.
