10-year-old Tuen Mun girl carrying two large bags of beer arrested on child abuse suspicion; parents released on bail pending investigation

After a 10-year-old girl at Fu Tai Estate in Tuen Mun was seen carrying two large bags of beer, her 38-year-old stepfather and 32-year-old biological mother were arrested on suspicion of child abuse and were released on bail today (the 8th), required to report to the police later this month. The evening before (the 6th), a neighbour filmed the girl trailing her family home carrying bags estimated to contain at least 10 cans of beer each; the stepfather snatched one bag of beer and shouted "useless person".
