Chief Secretary for Administration inspects first-day opening of Huanggang Port, says overall operation smooth

Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan Kwok-kei inspected the first-day opening of Huanggang Port on the morning of 12 October 2026, saying the overall operation was smooth and all customs and immigration counters were fully open. Under the model of "joint inspection and single release", clearance takes an average of 10 to 20 seconds, with more than 500 directional signs and over 300 road signs placed in the Hong Kong port area. He said foot traffic was lower today, while larger crowds on Saturday and Sunday would be a greater test, and he would continue to observe the situation.
