Industry and Lawmakers Urge Public Gyms to Allow Online Safety Briefings and Penalise Absentees

Industry representatives and lawmakers in Hong Kong have urged public gyms to allow online safety briefings and to penalise those who fail to attend without good reason. The Ombudsman launched an investigation into the management of public gyms on Tuesday, saying that rigid mandatory training requirements, combined with a severe shortage of venues, constitute an obstacle to public participation and result in low utilisation of the facilities.
