Stray dog caught at Wo Yi Hop Road, Kwai Chung; AFCD: investigating whether it is kept by an owner

The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) launched a dog-catching operation near Wo Yi Hop Road, Kwai Chung on the 5th, during which it caught a stray dog and sent it to the Animal Management Centre for detention and observation. The dog had not been microchipped. The AFCD said it would investigate whether the dog has an owner and would prosecute if there is sufficient evidence of a violation. Last month, after two suspected cases of dogs biting people to death occurred in Hong Kong, the AFCD subsequently carried out dog-catching operations.
