CICHC Says It Supports Sentencing, Does Not Answer on Review Progress

CICHC issued a statement on the incident, expressing agreement with and support for the court's sentencing, describing the verdict as bringing those involved to justice and upholding justice. Police welcomed the verdict, believing it would have a deterrent effect on similar cases. Tam King Shan, Chief Inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department of Tai Po Police District, said the defendant abused the victim's trust by exploiting her role as a carer, thereby sexually assaulting the victim.
