CLP Lai Chi Kok to Tsz Wan Shan line voltage dip; Fire Services Department receives 178 reports of people trapped in lifts

A voltage dip occurred in parts of Kowloon and the New Territories in the afternoon. The Fire Services Department received a total of 178 reports of people trapped in lifts and 39 reports of fire alarm bells ringing, and all rescue and follow-up actions have been completed. CLP said a set of 400,000-volt power lines connecting Lai Chi Kok to Tsz Wan Shan recorded a brief voltage dip at about 1:09pm, during which power supply was not interrupted. Some customers may have seen lights dimming or flickering, and CLP is following up on the incident.
