New Huanggang Port opens Monday morning; John Lee urges public not to visit port for check-ins unless they need to cross the border

The new Huanggang Port will open on the morning of the 12th. Chief Secretary John Lee urged members of the public not to go to the port to experience customs clearance or "check in" unless they have a genuine need to cross the border. He said all departments were fully prepared, but the port was expected to be relatively busy in the initial period of opening, and travellers would also need time to adapt to the new clearance model. Those who need to cross the border should choose a suitable port according to their needs, plan their itinerary in advance and allow ample time.
