Former Investment Banker Founds EcoBricks, Says Main Barrier to Plastic Recycling Is Economic Rather Than Technical

Former investment banker Shervin Sharghy founded Hong Kong company EcoBricks, saying the main barrier to plastic recycling is often economic rather than scientific. He said the cost of collecting, sorting, washing and processing waste plastic is usually higher than producing new material from oil and gas, especially given the small-scale operations of most recyclers.
