Tung Chung construction site worker falls from height and dies; Industrial Casualty Rights Association says 10th similar fatal accident this year

A 30-year-old male worker at a construction site on Wui Tung Street, Tung Chung, was suspected of falling from a height in the afternoon. He was seriously injured and fell into a coma, and was pronounced dead after resuscitation. The Labour Department has dispatched staff to the site and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. The Industrial Casualty Rights Association said this was the 21st fatal construction accident this year and the 10th death case caused by a fall from height. It is understood that the construction site involved is a Housing Department works project.
