Engineers Association: If there are bad apples, we will follow up seriously

Eric Chan, president of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, said at a media tea gathering yesterday that the institution would seriously follow up on the "bad apples" in engineering quality issues. He said the institution had not yet grasped the full picture of the facts and hoped to comment after the government's investigation was completed, so as to avoid trial by media and unfairness to those involved. He also said that if engineers were asked by their superiors to do things that breach regulations, "you should fire your boss".
