Tang Ping-Keung: Mainland Fire Engines Can Connect to Hong Kong Fire Hydrants for Water; Three Places Share Consensus on Peripheral Water Spraying at Major Fires

Secretary for Security Tang Ping-Keung says Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao are implementing a joint Greater Bay Area emergency rescue mechanism, with action accelerated after the Wang Fuk Court fire, and mainland fire engines can now connect to Hong Kong street fire hydrants for water through adapters. The three places have a consensus that at major fires they will assist with peripheral water spraying to fight fires; he stresses that cross-border personnel have different communication systems, firefighting methods and cultural backgrounds, and safety must be ensured before they can enter a fire scene to fight fires.
