Chan Kwok-ki Announces Steering Committee and Cross-Departmental Central Data System to Implement Tai Wang House Fire Independent Committee Recommendations

Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki said at a press conference that the government will set up a steering committee chaired by him to oversee the implementation progress of the independent committee's recommendations on fire safety and supervision of building maintenance works. The government will also establish a cross-departmental joint central data system integrating inspection, non-compliance, disciplinary and conviction records of departments including the Buildings Department, Fire Services Department and Labour Department, and set up a monitoring system using artificial intelligence to analyse building maintenance complaints.
